Original Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

This dough can also be dropped on ungreased baking sheets to make cookies.
NOTES : If you prefer drop cookies: drop dough by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9 - 11 minutes.
Yield:4 dozen
 Quantity Unit Ingredient 
2.25 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarinesoftened 
0.75 cup granulated sugar
0.75 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
butterscotch chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Spray 15 x 10 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.

Beat butter, sugars and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, beating well.

Gradually mix in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.

Spread dough into prepared pan.

Bake for 20 -25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack.
